“Gun Star The Last Star Fighter”

Cinema 4D Ar3 used for rendering, modeled in Hexagon and Modo for some of the detailed parts, still needs more detail on the aft part of the ship. I didn't have much reference material to model off of until my son gave me the DVD after most of ship was modeled .
Thanks for taking a peek. Have a productive week !
Michael.

The Last Star fighter is one of the earliest films to make extensive use of computer graphics for its special effects. In place of physical models, 3D rendered models were used to depict space ships and many other objects. The Gunstar and other spaceships were the design of artist Ron Cobb, who also worked on Aliens, Star Wars and Conan the Barbarian. Here is my interpretation of the Gun star staying close to form ,all of which was modeled in Hexagon and fine detail in Modo with ambient occlusion render in Cinema 4D AR3.

Freedom Concept cg edition

new free

Two months of hard surface modeling was involved in the making of this model the software's used were Modo and Cinema4D, final render in C4D AR3.
The original concept sketch  of the "Freedom" was created by  Simon Atkinson  in 2000  a well know designer illustrator from the UK. Simon granted special permission to recreate his concept called "Freedom" from  sketch paper to my own 3D CGI version  with my own flair. I believe the concept was for a proposed TV pilot  that never aired . Zoom on in for the detail.
Thanks for stopping by . Michael.
